R&D Scientist/Engineer

MesoMat is seeking an experienced R&D engineer or scientist to join our team and play a key role on our growing technical team. You will be crucially involved in advancing our core technology, production capabilities and product development. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are ambitious, enthusiastic, creative and enjoy solving challenging scientific/engineering problems. Roles and responsibilities are dynamic but you will:
• Use your scientific knowledge to design and perform experiments which will help optimize various fiber properties
• Build software to process data and run microcontrollers
• Analyze data to draw key conclusions using Python or similar
• Design and build electronics and circuitry

Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related discipline (Masters or PhD preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a penchant for creative thinking
• Experience with electronics and circuitry
• Strong scientific programming skills (Python, C, etc.)
• Previous R&D experience in an academic or industrial setting
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment

Co-op Research and Development Scientist

MesoMat is looking for ambitious co-op students to support our R&D program! We seek students who are ambitious, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and happy to work in a team environment. Roles and responsibilities are dynamic and can change rapidly, but as a co-op student you will be involved in aspects of the following:
• Fabricating MesoMat conductive fibers
• Characterization of fibers (optical microscopy, atomic force microscopy, etc.)
• Performing mechanical and electrical experiments and tests
• Data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Building software and electronics systems

Qualifications:
• Ideal candidates will have a background in physics, engineering physics, or similar
• Strong problem-solving skills and a penchant for creative thinking
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
• Bonus points for:
-previous R&D experience
-basic experience building and designing electronic systems
-basic scientific programming (eg. Python, C, MATLAB, etc.)
