R&D Scientist/Engineer

MesoMat is seeking an experienced R&D engineer or scientist to join our team and play a key role on our growing technical team. You will be crucially involved in advancing our core technology, production capabilities and product development. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are ambitious, enthusiastic, creative and enjoy solving challenging scientific/engineering problems. Roles and responsibilities are dynamic but you will:

  • Use your scientific knowledge to design and perform experiments which will help optimize various fiber properties
  • Build software to process data and run microcontrollers
  • Analyze data to draw key conclusions using Python or similar
  • Design and build electronics and circuitry

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related discipline (Masters or PhD preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a penchant for creative thinking
  • Experience with electronics and circuitry
  • Strong scientific programming skills (Python, C, etc.)
  • Previous R&D experience in an academic or industrial setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment

MesoMat is looking for an ambitious software engineer who will play a key role in designing and developing the software systems for our sensing platform! We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are ambitious, enthusiastic, creative and enjoy solving challenging problems. Roles and responsibilities are dynamic and can change rapidly, but as a software engineer you will work closely with our product team to:

  • Develop front and back software systems
  • Provide guidance on the selection of a scalable tech stack for an enterprise application
  • Design and develop new features in software platforms which extract, analyze and display sensor signals
  • Collaborate with members of our R&D team to plan and coordinate software development roadmaps

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in software engineering or computer science
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a penchant for creative thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Experience building development tools, APIs, and enterprise software
  • Bonus points for experience with C# and .Net development

Roles and responsibilities are dynamic and can change rapidly, but as a software co-op student you will be involved in aspects of the following:

  • Programming in various languages for back-end and front-end development
  • Designing and developing new features in our software platforms which extract, analyze and display sensor signals
  • Collaborating with members of our R&D team to plan and coordinate feasibility and delivery of future work
